Professor ZHENG Xinye, born in August 1969, is a member of the Communist Party of China. He is currently Vice President of Renmin University of China and a member of the standing committee of the university’s party committee. Holding a PhD in philosophy, he is an outstanding talent in philosophy and social sciences in the National High-level Personnel of Special Support Program, the chief expert of major projects of the Marxist Theory Research and Construction Project. His notable achievements enabled him to be one of the experts who enjoy special allowance from the State Council.
His main research areas include energy and carbon economy, industry and digital economy, globalization and global policy coordination. He has presided over a number of national, provincial and ministerial level research projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Social Science Foundation of China, and the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Finance, and the National Energy Administration. He has authored numerous academic publications such as 'The Origin, Goals and Realization Paths of China's Energy Revolution' and more than 60 papers in academic journals such as 'Chinese Social Sciences', 'Economic Research', and 'Nature Energy'. Moreover, he won the second prize of the National Higher Education Teaching Achievement Award, the first prize of the Beijing Higher Education Teaching Achievement Award, and the second prize of the Outstanding Achievement Award for Scientific Research in Colleges and Universities.
