Student Clubs

The diverse and vibrant student clubs at the Suzhou campus provide a great platform for students at Silk Road School (SRS) to make friends, improve language skills, and better integrate into campus life. In 2019, SRS established its own press corps, attracting multiple outstanding students to participate in publicity work, actively spreading the voice of China, and telling Chinese stories to the world. LIM YINRU (2019 level) from Singapore, RAJBHANDARI and ANEKA REBECCA from Nepal (2021 level), PRODANOVA and EKATERINA from Russia (2021 level), OKORIE and CHINAZAM FELICIA from Nigeria (2021 level), DERAKHSHAN and MOHAMMAD from Iran (2021 level) , and others have joined successively, becoming members of the press corps family.

Career Development

The Silk Road School (SRS) is committed to promoting the complementary advantages of the university, local community and enterprises, coordinating education, integrating multiple resources, actively exploring the establishment of off-campus internship base of SRS, integrating production and teaching, bridging the bridge between students and enterprises, providing elite talents for Chinese enterprises in countries and regions along the "the Belt and Road", and providing employment support for overseas students who are interested in developing in China.

Volunteering

The Silk Road School (SRS) attaches great importance to labor education, exploring the path of labor education through volunteer labor such as organizing international students to maintain flower beds, loosen soil and fertilize, pull grass and water, plant trees and flowers, innovating the labor education model, actively creating a good atmosphere of "advocating labor and loving labor", and fully mobilizing the enthusiasm of students from all over the world to share the beauty of labor.

Cultural Activities

The Silk Road School (SRS) is constantly enriching the teaching resources and student activities outside the classroom, and achieves the "five educations" of international students by organizing colorful activities such as table tennis matches, friendly game of volleyball, talent shows for foreigners, flower arrangement and tea tasting. Students can also participate in various cultural and sports activities organized by the Suzhou campus, the main campus, surrounding universities, local governments, etc. They can also spend traditional festivals with young students from all over the world, hold cultural performances, organize hiking, camping, and cycling activities to explore Suzhou and China.

Academic Activities

The Silk Road School (SRS) regularly holds high-end academic conferences such as graduate academic forums and the Suzhou Silk Road Forum, which provide students with multiple platforms to showcase themselves and expand their horizons. At the same time, SRS actively organizes students to participate in high-end forums organized by the main campus, sister universities, local governments and other institutions, such as the academic seminar of " Mutual Learning Between Civilization: China and MENA Seminar" and "the Belt and Road Youth Forum", the "14th Five Year Plan" and China Youth Seminar, the "International Chinese Day" World Youth Roundtable Conference, the Second International Youth Beijing Forum, etc. Students also actively create and participate in various academic exchange activities, such as academic salons and workshops.

Taking advantage of its location in the active economic belt of the Yangtze River Delta, the Silk Road School (SRS) has carefully designed research and development activities on the themes of heritage and development of Chinese traditional culture, national government governance and urban planning, development of modern and cutting-edge enterprises, rural revitalization and poverty alleviation, digital economy and intelligent technological innovation. These study tours aim to create a “second classroom” where students can exchange ideas with industry experts, engage in dialogues with entrepreneurs, and have discussions with government officials. By experiencing Chinese traditional culture and its contemporary development, witnessing the achievements of China’s development path with distinctive characteristics in the new era, and integrating knowledge with action, students can gain a deeper understanding of China.
