Silk Road School Conducted Research on International Programs in Xinjiang
On October 21, Jiang Xiaoli, Deputy Dean of Silk Road School (SRS), and Jiang Yingyi, academic assistant of SRS went to Xinjiang University and Xinjiang Normal University to conduct research on higher education of international students in China.
In the morning, Li Pu, Dean of College of International Cultural Exchange of Xinjiang University, Liang Yan, the Deputy Dean, and the heads of relevant departments had a discussion with Jiang Xiaoli. Li Pu introduced the overall information of the college and specific practices and achievements made as running this college. She said she hopes to strengthen cooperation with SRS in the future.
In the afternoon, Liu Jianwei, Deputy Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Department of Xinjiang Normal University, and Liu Weiqian, Deputy Dean of School of International Cultural Exchange, met Jiang Xiaoli and her colleague. Liu Jianwei introduced the history and general situation of Xinjiang Normal University's recruitment of international students, especially the recruitment channels of international students, international students' management and the distribution tendency of international students' disciplines.
In combination with the international characteristics of Renmin University of China Suzhou Campus and Dushu Lake Higher Education Area, Jiang Xiaoli introduced the project overview, curriculum setting and training practices of SRS’s "Contemporary China Studies" program, and expressed her hope to deepen exchanges and cooperation with two universities in recruitment, employment, postgraduate training, field study and other aspects in the future, and to jointly explore a new path for educational opening up to improve the quality of education for international students in China and train more outstanding international talents for the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative.
