On the afternoon of June 21st, a warm farewell party for graduates of Silk Road School was successfully held in the student activity room of Silk Road School. The farewell party invited 19th-grade graduates and 20th-grade students who are in SuZhou, and students in the other counties and regions participated in the event on line. The farewell party was hosted by Prof. Jiang Xiaoli, Deputy Dean of Silk Road School and Deputy Dean of International College.

Zhu Xinkai, Deputy President of Renmin University of China and Executive Dean of SRS, Li Jiugao, Dean of the International College, Dean of the Sino-French Institute, and DeputyDean of SRS Fang Weiwei, Secretary of the Party Committee of Suzhou Campus, Wang Hongli, Director of General Affairs Office of SRS and Executive Director of Scientific Research and Graduate Department, Zhu Fengyu, Director of Teaching and Student Affairs Department of SRS, etc. attended the farewell party.

Zhu Xinkai, on behalf of SRS, awarded certificates to students who won the outstanding graduation thesis and outstanding graduates.

In his speech, Zhu Xinkai expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the graduates and raised two hopes to the students. Firstly, he hopes that everyone will be a model of "Knowing China, Friendly to China, and Loving China", and apply the knowledge about China’s politics, economy, and culture learned at the Silk Road School to their future work and life. Introduce the deep friendship of Chineseto the world; secondly, he hopes that when he visits a certain country in the future, he can meet our SRS students. He looks forward to see the students of SRS on a larger international stage.

The students also took this opportunity to express their gratitude and love to SRS and Renmin University to Zhu Xinkai.

"Thank you, esteemed, for taking the time out of your busy schedule and coming to witness the important moments in our lives! I am very honored to be a student of SRS, and thank SRS for providing us with such a high-quality platform, so that we who are from different countries different majors can get together here to learn from each other, and make progress together. In the past two years, we have learned a lot about China and the world, and at the same time, we have a deeper understanding of our missions. We cherish the life in China very much. I hope that in the future, I will have the opportunity to introduce what I have seen and heard in China to the world, so that more people will know and fall in love with China.” Rafa (Sun Yujie) from Dominica said excitedly.

Our love will not be separated by mountains, rivers or even thousands of miles. In addition to the on-site students, online students also actively communicate with everyone through live broadcasts. Familiar faces, warm smiles, and beautiful memories kept coming, evoking the nostalgia and the feeling of reluctance to leave of the students. Muaaz (Mu Wenzhe) from Pakistan expressed his gratitude to all the teachers for their teaching, cultivation and care over the past two years.“It is a pleasure to meet so many friends from different countries. I miss my teachers and friends in China very much. I hope I can go back to China again and have a look at my Alma Mater again.”Muaaz said.

Afterwards, the students sat around the table, held hands to talk, took group photos, embraced each other, and recalled the various scenes they experienced together in the past two years, from the opening ceremony to the daily classroom, from research visits to academic forums, to various cultural activities...Recalling the days of studying together in the past, and the days of isolation when we encouraged each other, the students emotionally expressed their gratitude to the school, university, teachers and students, and also expressed their feelings of reluctance to say goodbye with tears in their eyes.

Even if there are barriers of time and distance, precious friendship will not be forgotten, and love and touch will not be absent because of the inability to reunite face to face. In the future,SRS will continue to serve as a solid backing for thestudents and accompany everyone along the way. Hope that students will learn something and make use of what they have learned. After graduation, they will continue to shine in the world, and become a bridge and link between China and the countries and regions along the “Belt and Road”, and work together to build a community with a shared future for mankind.
