Silk Road School visited Universities in Yunnan for Research

On November 25-26, Jiang Xiaoli, Deputy Dean of Silk Road School, and Zhang Mingyu, deputy director of Integrated Liaison Department, went to Yunnan Normal University, Yunnan Minzu University, and Yunnan University to conduct research on international education.

On the morning of the 25th, the research team went to Yunnan Normal University to investigate the enrollment of international students, the programs taught in Chinese for master's degree students, and student management. Mr. Huang Qiqing, vice dean of the School of International Chinese Education, Ms. Bai Jing, director of the Admission Office, and Mr. Cao Rui, director of the Foreign Affairs, Admission and Visa Office, participated in the discussion.

At the meeting, Vice Dean Huang Qiqing warmly welcomed the research team of SRS, introduced the basic situation of international education in Yunnan Normal University in detail, and elaborated on the specific practices and achievements of the college around the theme of the research. Mr. Huang Qiqing expressed his hope to realize win-win cooperation with SRS in enrollment and study in the future. Jiang Xiaoli introduced the overall situation of the four colleges in Suzhou Campus of Renmin University of China, as well as the school orientation and talent cultivation. Finally, the two sides carried out in-depth exchanges on inter-institutional cooperation mechanisms such as enrollment linkage, student cultivation linkage, mutual visits for study and research, and faculty sharing, hoping to carry out sustained and in-depth exchanges and cooperation in the future around enrollment and employment, talent cultivation, and international student management.

In the afternoon of the 25th, the research team went to the International College of Yunnan Minzu University to conduct talks on the basic situation of international students, talent cultivation, enrollment channels and trends, and inter-institutional cooperation. Cao Yan, dean of International College, and heads of relevant departments and offices participated in the meeting.

At the meeting, both sides discussed the enrollment of international students, distribution of specialties, talent cultivation, inter-institutional cooperation and other aspects. Cao Yan introduced the development history of the university and the college, the basic situation and the work of international student education. The persons in charge of the relevant departments exchanged views with the research group on the business work of enrollment, cultivation, education, management and service. Jiang Xiaoli introduced the overview of the SRS program, curriculum, special research, talent training, and the international characteristics of Suzhou Campus and Dushu Lake Higher Education Zone. Both sides said that they would continue to strengthen communication and cooperation, learn from each other, realize inter-institutional resource sharing, jointly explore more effective international student training mode and management system, and promote the high-quality development of international student work.

On the 26th, the research team went to the School of Chinese International Education of Yunnan University to learn about the enrollment and talent cultivation of the Chinese Master's Program for International Students of Yunnan University. Ma Li and Yu Jiangying, deputy deans of the School of Chinese Language and International Education, and Chen Xin, director of the Outreach Department, participated in the seminar.

At the seminar, Ma Li introduced in detail the development history, enrollment policy, curriculum and talent cultivation system of the college. She said that after years of development, the College has formed a set of comprehensive international student education system, covering multiple levels and types of Chinese language undergraduate programs, international Chinese education master's degree and language trainee programs. Combining the international characteristics of Suzhou Campus and Dushu Lake Higher Education Zone, Jiang Xiaoli introduced the program overview of SRS and her thoughts on the future development. Afterwards, Jiang Xiaoli had an in-depth exchange with the representatives, fully understood the situation of the international student cultivation program, and discussed the future cooperation in the areas of enrollment and employment, talent cultivation, practice and study. Both sides unanimously expressed their hope to deepen communication and cooperation in the future, to jointly improve the quality of international students' education, to cultivate more excellent international talents, and to serve the opening up of the country's education to the outside world.
